Where r da lyrics dude!

It seems lyk i'm getting tym to blog only after an exam finishes!(dont think can blog 4 a long tym nw).Sometimes this blogspot seems a mess, sometimes perfect...but anyways i like it exactly the way it is.Well lets start a new quest today.A quest to find out lyrics!
As ppl know, rock music is heavily influenced by blues and country music.Sometimes motown sound too.If any of u had a 1st hand experience of how the songs r structured,u wud definitely notice how deep the lyrics mean to the listener/songwriter.I would come to a much known fig,bob dylan. He was probably one of the greatest lyricist in western music. Most of his songs reflect deep agony, pain, lessons of life and all those stuff. His biggest album, highway 61 revisited had my fav song, like a rolling stone. All these songs seem so exciting when u understand their lyrics and motive behind it.As decades passed, the focus of musicians shifted more towards melody than lyrics,in order to sell out.Things were pretty good in the 70s.On one side there was bruce springsteen, who concentrated more on the american common life and wrote songs based on those themes. Some of his songs are based on even some lanes or billboards in his native place! Anyways songs like 'born in usa' and 'my city of ruins' and inspired the american ppl to a big extent and he became an instant star. Another prominent american songwriter of that era was jackson browne.I would say that he was rather the biggest one in the 70s.Even now he shines on with his 2006 live acoustic album which is on music shelves as we speak. His lyrics were pretty much refined and matured. With each album, his prominence grew. The smash hit 'Take it easy' by eagles is actually his baby. The eagles were considered to be a landmark band in songwriting. Here is one of my fav.Just go through these beautiful lines,an equally beautiful song-

"After The Thrill Is Gone"

Same dances in the same old shoes
Some habits that you just can't lose
There's no telling what a man might lose,
After the thrill is gone

The flame rises but it soon descends
Empty pages and a frozen pen
You're not quite lovers and you're not quite friends
After the thrill is gone, oh,
After the thrill is gone

What can you do when your dreams come true
And it's not quite like you planned?
What have you done to be losing the one
You held it so tight in your hand well

Time passes and you must move on,
Half the distance takes you twice as long
So you keep on singing for the sake of the song
After the thrill is gone
After the thrill is gone

You're afraid you might fall out of fashion
And you're feeling cold and small
Any kind of love without passion
That ain't no kind of lovin' at all, well

Same dances in the same old shoes
You get too careful with the steps you choose
you don't care about winning but you don't want to lose
After the thrill is gone
After the thrill is gone.

And no one can ignore pink floyd when it comes to lyrics.Roger waters was a really good lyricist.Overall any artist produced acceptable lyrics. Those days were truly the golden age of rock n roll.
Ok,now jumping on to the present era, fortunately those stars still exist!
The Eagles released 'hole in the world' on 9/11 attacks. But ppl/musicians of today probably had got tired of that laid back thing. They wanted to do something totally diff 4rm their predecessors. Then came the dark lyrics in music. Thus evolved the succeeder of rock music in the world today "metal".
The doors were rt,rock music is dead! Wat exists is just a handful of those good 'ol rockstars performing just to survive. Its true that black sabbath invented heavy metal, but ozzy personally says tht he never liked the word 'metal' due to its lack of any connection wid music. Now i dont want to go into metal here.Lets just take a look at those lyrics here.It first was abt swearing, then went on and on to various underground topics like anti-christ,anti-establishment,blood,gore and all that.Well of course, metal is not the only form of music that exists today! There are a lot of sub-genres too. But as we are following the lyrics of rock music 4rm the 60s to this age,we reach metal, its direct succeeder.Lets look into a much more known fig today,System Of A Down.Mind u,i'm talkin of lyrics, not the song!
Here goes a piece of lyrics by SOAD 4rm their 2005 album 'hypnotize'-

"Kill Rock 'N Roll"

So I felt like the biggest asshole
Felt like the biggest asshole
when I killed your rock and roll
Mow down the sexy people

Every time I look in your eyes, every day I'm watching you die
All the thoughts I see in you about how I

So I felt like the biggest asshole
(felt like the biggest asshole)
When I killed your rock n roll
(Mow down the sexy people)
Every time I look In your eyes, every day I'm watching you die
All the thoughts I see in you about how I

Eat all the grass
Eat all the grass that you want
Accidents happen In the dark
Eat all the grass that you want
Accidents happen In the dark
Eat all the grass that you want
Accidents happen In the dark
Eat all the grass that you want

Accidents happen

Every time I look In your eyes, every day I'm watching you die
All the thoughts I see in you about how I

Why Why
Why Why

So I felt like the biggest asshole
When I killed rock n roll
When I felt like the biggest asshole
When I kill rock n roll.

Ok,here i dont need to say much.Just compare the lyrics above and the lyrics below.
